Holistic Reflexology and Reiki
A holistic approach to health and healing

Reflexology is an energy balancing method of bodywork, similar to acupressure, and is based on the principle of meridians or channels of energy running throughout the body which affect the flow of Qi, or energy.  There are approximately 7200 nerve endings in each of your feet.  This makes your feet very receptive to sensory stimulation.  Nerve endings in the feet are extensively connected to the spinal cord and brain, and all areas of the body.

Years of research and practice have proven reflexology reduces stress.  According to medical experts people respond to stress in a very predictable biochemical way.  Stress may not be a disease in itself, but it aggravates many inflammatory conditions like allergies, arthritis, asthma, and serious conditions like atherosclerosis, cancer, chronic fatigue, colitis, diabetes, emphysema, fibromyalgia, gastritis, hypertension, hypoglycemia, neuromuscular syndromes, and thyroid disorders. Stress causes poor digestion and absorption, which can result in malnutrition and autointoxication.

Reflexology also helps to increase circulation throughout the body which benefits immune function, and the delivery of important materials throughout the body where needed.   It reduces the symptoms of back pain, headaches and much more.

In Reflexology, pressure is applied to all the reflex points on your feet, stimulating and balancing your energy. After a session you'll feel a sense of calm and relaxation for a few days.  Sometimes a person will feel rejuvenated and energized.  After a series of sessions you will notice improvement in your sense of well-being.

Reflexology is in use worldwide.  In Great Britain it is part of their National Health Service.  In Japan some employee health plans now include coverage of reflexology.   In Denmark reflexology is the number one alternative health therapy.
